Earning BNZ Rewards as a joint or additional cardholder
BNZ Points or Flybuys earned on purchases using a jointly held BNZ Advantage Visa Classic or BNZ Advantage Visa Platinum credit card will be shared evenly between both cardholders. This is regardless of which joint cardholder made the purchase.
For example, Jane and Sam share a joint credit card account. If Jane uses the joint card to buy groceries and earns 100 BNZ Points, these will be shared evenly between them. 50 BNZ Points will go into Jane’s Rewards account, and 50 BNZ Points will go into Sam’s Rewards account. Jane and Sam can then individually choose how to redeem their rewards.
Choosing what reward you earn
Joint cardholders don’t have to choose the same reward. Each joint cardholder can choose to be rewarded with BNZ Rewards or Flybuys. You can switch between BNZ Rewards or Flybuys. You’ll only earn one reward type per month and you can swap between BNZ Rewards and Flybuys up to six times in a calendar year.
BNZ Rewards
With BNZ Rewards, you’ll earn BNZ Points which can be redeemed for eGift cards, cash back to your credit card account, transferred to partner programmes, or to book travel almost anywhere in the world. Flybuys
If you choose to earn Flybuys, your Flybuys will be automatically accumulated in to your Flybuys account at the end of each month. You can view and manage your Flybuys by signing in to flybuys.co.nz.
Understanding your statement
If you choose to redeem your BNZ Points for cash back to your credit card account, this will be shown on your credit card statement. If both joint credit cardholders have chosen to redeem BNZ Points for cash back to the credit card account, this will appear as two separate credits.
Any other rewards redemption will not be shown on your credit card statement, but can be viewed or managed through the BNZ Rewards portal. Learn how to view and manage your BNZ Rewards.
Additional cardholders
An additional cardholder added to a BNZ Advantage Visa card will not earn rewards. However, any eligible transactions processed using the card will accumulate rewards and be credited to the primary cardholder’s Reward account.
