Sending secure messages

You can communicate with us by sending and receiving secure messages in Internet Banking.

Note: This feature is not available for business customers using Internet Banking for Business.

To send a secure message:

  1. Click Menu in the top left corner of the main page.
  2. Select the Contact icon from the bottom left of the menu. 

Messaging us in the BNZ app

We’re introducing a new messaging feature in the BNZ app that lets you get answers to your banking questions faster from our virtual assistant, Āwhina. It’s not available in Internet Banking on desktop.

This feature is being rolled out gradually to BNZ app customers, starting with iOS users, then Android. To try it out: 

  1. Go to Menu (the three horizontal lines in the top left corner).
  2. Select Contact, then Messages.
  3. Select the Start new message button, then type in your message.

This starts a conversation with our virtual assistant, Āwhina.

You’ll be asked to select a topic that your message relates to, or connected with one of our team. Āwhina will respond and if needed, refer you to a specialist banker who’ll get in touch within 24 hours.

Any messages you send here while logged in to the BNZ app are secure.

Archived messages

Any previous secure messages from your inbox in the BNZ app can be found in the archive from the Contact screen. Or, you can still access them through Internet Banking on desktop.
