Changing from Eftpos to Flexi Debit Visa
If you’ve received a Flexi Debit Visa card to replace your Eftpos card, here are some things to keep in mind.
Same PIN
Your Flexi Debit Visa comes pre-loaded with the same PIN you had on your Eftpos card. Complete a transaction using the PIN in store or at an ATM, and you’re ready to go.
Works the same way
Your Flexi Debit Visa works just like your Eftpos card. Insert or swipe the card, choose the account you want and enter your PIN. No need to pay any surcharges.
Money from your account
A Flexi Debit Visa is not a credit card. You’ll access money from your everyday accounts.
Track your spending
See how you spend and where your money’s going. Use the Activity tab in the BNZ app to help you stay on top of your spending.
Keep control of your card in the BNZ app
Manage your card settings by selecting ‘Cards’ from the menu in the BNZ app.
Block and unblock
Can’t find your card? Block it while you’re looking for it, then unblock it when it’s back in your hands.
Manage payWave
Use Visa payWave to breeze through checkouts with contactless payments, or switch off payWave when it suits you.
Link your accounts
Change the accounts that are linked to the CHQ and SAV options on your card whenever you need to.
Our cards have these security features
Cover for fraud
NetPledge covers you for online transactions you didn’t make on your card, i.e. if someone uses your card to shop online without your permission (including someone who’s stolen your card).
Purchase protection
If you buy something online and don’t receive it, or return an item and don’t get a refund, our NetPromise policy means we can help get your money back if you let us know within 30 days of getting your statement.
ATM technology
Our liquid encryption technology updates the security information on your card’s magnetic strip every time you use it at a BNZ ATM. This helps us detect if your card has been copied without your knowledge.
