Payap digital wallet
With Payap you can avoid surcharges and pay by scanning a QR code on your mobile. Whether you want to link your BNZ accounts, or other New Zealand bank accounts, you choose how you pay. ^
Ways to open an account
You can open an account online by using RealMe®, or by taking a photo of yourself and your New Zealand passport or New Zealand driver licence. A third way to open an account is to start online and get verified at your nearest branch. You must be aged 13 or older and live in New Zealand.

It’s easy to join with a verified RealMe® account. Once you’ve finished you can start using your account straight away.
Taking photos

You can apply online by taking a photo of yourself and your New Zealand passport or New Zealand driver licence. We’ll review and process them online.

Depositor Compensation Scheme
