Open a YouWealth managed fund account
If you’re already a BNZ customer, you can open a YouWealth account as an individual investor through Internet Banking or the BNZ app. If you’re not a customer, you’ll need to open a transactional account with us before you can open your individual YouWealth account.

Before opening a YouWealth account
To invest in a YouWealth managed fund, you’ll need to be 18 years or older.
Guide to YouWealth managed funds
Select a PIR
Select a Prescribed Investor Rate (PIR), which we’ll use to work out how much tax you’ll pay on your YouWealth Investment funds. If you don’t choose a PIR, we’ll apply the highest PIR which is currently 28%.

How BNZ customers open an individual YouWealth account
It only takes a few steps to open an individual YouWealth account using Internet Banking or the BNZ app.
Internet Banking
Log in to Internet Banking and select Apply now, then choose Open YouWealth.
BNZ app
Log in to the BNZ app and tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines in the top left corner). Select Apply now, tap Investments, and choose Open YouWealth.
Ways to open an account if you’re not a customer
If you’re not a customer, you’ll need to open a transactional account with us and register for Internet Banking, before you can open a YouWealth account.
You can open an account online by using RealMe®, or by taking a photo of yourself and your New Zealand passport or New Zealand driver licence. A third way to open an account is to start online and get verified at your nearest branch. You must be aged 13 or older and live in New Zealand.

Using RealMe
Opened online
It’s easy to join with a verified RealMe® account. Once you’ve finished you can start using your account straight away.
Taking photos
Opened online
You can apply online by taking a photo of yourself and your New Zealand passport or New Zealand driver licence. We’ll review and process them online.

Opened over the phone
