KiwiSaver fund updates
Changes to the BNZ KiwiSaver Scheme
New Statement of Investment Policy and Objectives (SIPO)
The Statement of Investment Policy and Objectives (SIPO) PDF 94KB for the BNZ KiwiSaver Scheme was updated on 1 September 2017, reflecting changes to:
- The allowable investment ranges for each of the BNZ KiwiSaver Scheme funds (except the Cash Fund); and
- the currency hedging range for International Equities, which is now between 0 – 100%.
With the aim of protecting the Funds from downside risk and improving performance, we (‘the Manager’) may move away from the target investment mixes and/or 50% currency hedging level, from time-to-time, within these allowable ranges.
We also updated the name of the International Fixed Interest asset class Benchmark Index to Bloomberg Barclays Global Aggregate Index (100% hedged to New Zealand dollars).
Underlying investment fund – international equities
In March 2017, the underlying investment fund we use for international equities changed from the Russell Global Opportunities Fund to the JANA Multi-Manager Global Share Trust. Investments in international equities excludes investments in companies involved in the manufacture of tobacco or tobacco-related products, as well as cluster munitions, anti-personnel mines, and nuclear armaments.
