Set or change the PIN on your business credit or Flexi Debit for Business Visa card

To activate and set a PIN for your new Advantage Visa Business or Flexi Debit for Business Visa card, you can use the BNZ app.

For a Business First Lite Visa or Purchasing card, you’ll need to check that your card is visible in the BNZ app. To do this, select Menu and then Cards. If it isn’t, call 0800 275 269 for help setting it up. If you don’t have the BNZ app, follow these steps to download it and set it up. Once you’ve set it up, call 0800 275 269 so we can add your card to the BNZ app. 

You can also update the PIN for all business card types in the BNZ app.

Activate and set your PIN in the BNZ app

You can set your PIN for all business cards using the steps below. This feature isn’t available in the BNZ Business app.

  1. Log in to the BNZ app (not the BNZ Business app) and tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines in top left corner).
  2. Tap Cards. You’ll see which of your cards need to be activated. If you can’t see your card in the app, call us on 0800 275 269.
  3. Select the card you want to activate. Tap Set PIN and Activate card. 
  4. Verify your card by entering the 3-digit number in the signature panel on the back of your physical card.
    If the number doesn’t match what we have on file, you’ll get an error message. Check you have the new card, confirm the number and enter it again. If you continue to receive an error, send us a message in Internet Banking and we can look into this for you. 
  5. When the number is a match, a green tick will appear.
  6. Tap Next to set your PIN. Enter a 4-digit PIN. Make sure to select a secure PIN.
  7. Re-enter the same 4-digit PIN to confirm it.
  8. Once your PIN is confirmed, your card is ready to use. 

Change your PIN in the BNZ app

You can update the PIN for all business cards using the steps below. This feature isn’t available in the BNZ Business app.

  1. Log in to the BNZ app (not the BNZ Business app) and tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines in top left corner).
  2. Tap Cards.
  3. Select the card you want to change the PIN for. Tap Manage PIN
  4. Verify your card by entering the 3-digit number in the signature panel on the back of your physical card. 
    If the number doesn’t match what we have on file, you’ll get an error message. Check you have the new card, confirm the number and enter it again. If you continue to receive an error, get in touch and we can look into this for you. When the number is a match, a green tick will appear.
  5. Tap Next to set your PIN. Enter a 4-digit PIN. Make sure to select a secure PIN.
  6. Re-enter the same 4-digit PIN to confirm it.
  7. Once your PIN is confirmed, your card is ready to use.
