Suppliers

It’s important for us to engage with suppliers that align with our vision and strategy. Here’s some information regarding our procurement portal, Coupa, our third party risk assessment process, our expectations and commitment to sustainability and employee health and safety.

World leading procurement platform

We’ve engaged with Coupa, a world leading procurement platform, to streamline the way we work with our suppliers. They provide us with a source-to-pay platform that delivers invoice and purchase order automation and online catalogues. Onboarding of the new suppliers is also managed within Coupa.

Invoices can either be sent to bnzinvoices@paperlessap.co.nz referencing a valid purchase order or submitted via the Coupa supplier portal.

Supplier assessment

Before a supplier contract is approved, we’ll assess your ability to meet our compliance, regulatory, and legal requirements. We use a third-party risk management system, called Archer Engage, to perform supplier assessments. If we require you to complete an assessment, you will be promoted through email to fill out online questionnaires. Depending on the nature of the arrangement we have, you may be required to complete a reassessment periodically to make sure that we keep our customer’s banking services available and their information safe.

Business continuity

Suppliers critical to us must have a Business Continuity Management programme, which includes recovery plans for all the services supplied to us.

Information security

Where suppliers have access to BNZ information, we check to ensure that they meet our information security standards.

Technical continuity

Suppliers providing services that support critical business processes must complete Disaster Recovery testing proving their service/s recovery capabilities are adequate.

Sustainability

We prefer to do business with suppliers that hold similar values to us. As part of the NAB Group, we’re committed to our Supplier Sustainability Programme, which aims to mitigate sustainability risks and outlines our expectations for suppliers.

Living wage

BNZ is an accredited Living Wage business. We believe that everybody should be paid a fair wage, supporting them and their families to meet the costs of living.  As a valued supplier we expect you to make the commitment to pay a Living Wage to the employees you have working for BNZ.

Health and safety

We have an obligation to keep employees safe. Any supplier undertaking activities with a level of risk will be required to complete a health and safety pre-qualification assessment after registering as a supplier. This will be completed in our online portal, a link to which will be provided along with guidance, if this is a requirement.

Whistleblower Programme

Suppliers can safely and confidentially report wrongdoing by emailing whistleblower@bnz.co.nz. You can report wrongdoing under the Programme if you’re a:

  • current or former supplier (whether paid or unpaid)
  • employee of a supplier, contractor, subcontractor, or volunteer
  • current or former employee of BNZ
  • current or former officer or associate (for example, a director or secretary of BNZ)
  • relative, dependent or spouse of one of the above.
