Hamilton customers are being welcomed back to BNZ’s transformed central city branch this week following a two-month refurbishment, as the bank celebrates a landmark period of investment in the city’s Victoria Street precinct.
The refurbishment of the branch at Level 1, 354 Victoria Street comes as BNZ marks its five-year naming rights partnership with the newly opened BNZ Theatre, located just 300 metres down the street.
BNZ Executive Personal and Business Banking Anna Flower says the dual investment demonstrates the bank’s commitment to supporting Hamilton’s growth as both a cultural and economic hub.
“We’re excited to welcome customers to our transformed Victoria Street branch at a time when BNZ is making a significant investment in the city’s future. Within a three-minute walk, customers can access modern banking services at our refurbished branch and experience world-class entertainment at BNZ Theatre.
“This reflects our long-term commitment to the Waikato region – supporting both the everyday financial needs of our customers and the cultural experiences that make it a vibrant place to live, work and do business.”
The refurbished branch features a community space, a concierge welcome hub to greet and assist customers, a 24/7 smart ATM lobby, and new meeting rooms providing a comfortable and professional setting for customer conversations.
“We’re really proud of the New Zealand craftsmanship and sustainable design that has gone into the branch, with local trades, manufacturers and designers all playing a part,” says Flower.
Key features include innovative 3D printed recycled plastic surfaces, sustainably sourced fabrics, and New Zealand wool carpet – all sourced from domestic businesses.
“These refurbishments reflect our commitment to ensuring agri, business and personal banking customers across the Waikato have access to modern, comfortable spaces for their banking, whether that’s everyday transactions or more in-depth financial conversations with our team,” Flower says.
Victoria Street precinct investment
The Victoria Street branch transformation comes as the new BNZ Theatre opened its doors this week with a special civic opening featuring the world premiere of To the Stars / Kingā Whetū, before its official public opening night on Friday January 23 with soul singer TEEKS.
The 1,300-seat theatre represents a significant cultural and economic investment in Hamilton, with Flower saying the partnership will help create jobs and support local tourism and hospitality businesses.
“BNZ Theatre and our continued investment in local banking services demonstrate our ongoing commitment to supporting the region’s success,” she says.
The BNZ Hamilton Business Centre branch is located at Level 1, 354 Victoria Street and operates Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
