Authenticating using the BNZ Mobile app
When you need to use two-step authentication in Internet Banking, you can use the BNZ Mobile app instead of your NetGuard card. Authenticating with your mobile app is easy and secure. No text messages or codes to enter, just tap Confirm and you’re done.
To authenticate with the app:
- When you need to authenticate, we’ll send a request to your BNZ Mobile app.
- Open your app and tap Confirm.
- That’s it. You can get on with your banking.
Security on the BNZ Mobile app
When you first set up the app, you would have been asked to either provide secure codes from an SMS and email, or your NetGuard co-ordinates. This created a secure token on your device, which is how we know that it’s you using it. It’s also why you can use your BNZ Mobile app to authenticate in Internet Banking.
Hang on to your NetGuard card
Make sure you keep your NetGuard card for now. You may need it occasionally for things like making international payments or applying for certain things in Internet Banking.
