PayClip accepts EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards, UnionPay credit cards, and mobile wallets.
PayClip can accept American Express cards but a separate merchant facility is required.
PayClip does not accept Diners or other card types.
Inserting cards with a chip
If your customer’s card has a chip, you must insert the card (with the front of the card facing you) into the card slot located at the bottom of the PayClip device.
If you are experiencing issues try swiping the customer’s card through the magnetic stripe reader located at the top of the PayClip.
Swiping a card’s magnetic stripe
You can swipe the customer’s card through the magnetic stripe reader located at the top of the PayClip.
If PayClip isn’t reading the magnetic stripe on the customer’s card, check you’re swiping the card the correct way. The front of the card should face you with the magnetic stripe at the bottom.
You can swipe the card in either direction through the magnetic reader.
A customer only needs to tap their card or smart device (if using a mobile wallet) near the screen of the PayClip to make a contactless payment.
If the transaction is for more than $80 the customer will be prompted to enter a PIN.
