Airpoints Advance allows you, as the nominated earner2 to get an Airpoints Dollars Advance of up to 100 Airpoints Dollars3. This means that if you've almost got enough Airpoints Dollars for your next trip away, there's no need to swim the last few miles - just dip into your Airpoints Advance.

When you head off overseas, your GlobalPlus Gold credit card can have your insurance needs sorted. Once you activate the cover, you'll be insured against the unexpected on trips of up to 35 days with Gold International Leisure Travel Insurance (PDF 410KB) - whether that's cancellation of your trip or lost baggage4.

Convert Fly Buys to Airpoints Dollars

If you collect Fly Buys you can convert the Fly Buys Points you collect into Airpoints Dollars5. Every time you convert 300 Fly Buys Points, you'll get 48 Airpoints Dollars and then for every 150 Fly Buys Points you convert after that, you'll get 24 Airpoints Dollars.

If you hold more than one credit card that entitles you to Airpoints Advance, you are only entitled to an Airpoints Advance for the card which has the higher Airpoints Advance limit. Airpoints Dollars earned, after the Advance has been used, are first applied to repaying any negative Airpoints Dollars before contributing to any positive Airpoints Dollars balance. The cardholder cannot use Airpoints Advance (or any unused portion of it), and has 12 months to repay the Advance, once s/he ceases to be the nominated earner or Air New Zealand withdraws Airpoints Advance. Failure to repay the Advance will result in Air New Zealand closing the cardholder's Airpoints membership account and Air New Zealand reserves the right to recover the monetary value of any outstanding Advance.
