Travel insurance is easy when you have a Gold credit card

As a Gold credit cardholder you'll have one less thing to organise whenever you take off on a holiday overseas. Just use your card to pay for at least $5002 of your prepaid travel costs ($2502 if you're travelling to Australia or a South Pacific Island) and you'll automatically receive Gold International Travel Insurance1 for return international trips of up to 35 days. There's no limit on the number of trips each year. Comprehensive cover

Your cover1 includes a wide range of unexpected events. However, before you go it's a good idea to read the full policy document to make sure you're getting what you want. In the meantime, here's a list of the main types of cover.

24-hour emergency and medical assistance

Gold card international travel insurance1 includes Travel Guard. This means wherever you go, emergency help is just a phone call away, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can reach Travel Guard on +64 9 359 1675 (reverse charge).

Includes your spouse and dependent children

If your spouse and/or dependent children are travelling with you they can be covered as well2. For Gold card travel insurance1 a spouse includes a de-facto partner and the definition of dependent children is outlined in the policy document.

Small print

Activation requirements including minimum Pre-paid Travel Costs payment and method of payment apply.  Insurance cover ('Insurance') is subject to policy Terms, Conditions and Exclusions (for example, excluded business travel and age limitations). The Insurance is provided to Gold cardholders by Chartis Insurance  New Zealand Limited ('Insurer').  BNZ does not underwrite the Insurance, is not an agent of the Insurer, and does not guarantee the obligations of the Insurer under the Insurance.  Immediate Family means your Spouse or Dependant Children accompanying you on your journey (Insurance eligibility criteria apply). Additional charges are payable for policy extensions you choose to take such as pre-existing cover and specified items.  Special activation requirements apply to Section I.7 Accidental Death and Disablement (Common Carrier cover). Please read the policy carefully to ensure that the Insurance meets with your requirements.
