Security

Keeping your money and information secure.

Our banking systems provide extra security to keep your information and accounts safe. Some use second factor identification (often referred to as 2FA). Other systems use special techniques developed by BNZ or our providers. There are also a few simple steps you can take when using cheque, card or internet and mobile banking services.

Did you know?

If you have any concerns about your BNZ accounts or you suspect you have responded to a fraudulent email, please call our Customer Solutions Advisors on 0800 275 269 or +64 4 494 9098 from overseas - international toll charges apply.

Online and mobile banking security

Our advanced online security protection includes second factor identification or 2FA. It's provided through a NetGuard card (for Internet Banking and our smartphone-friendly Mobile Banking site), Mobile NetGuard (embedded in our iPhone and Android mobile banking apps),  or a NetGuard token (for Internet Banking for Business) that you use when logging in. NetGuard card is also used to authorise new International Telegraphic Transfers and to activate Mobile NetGuard on our mobile banking apps.
