MoneyMap terms and conditions

1. Relationship with other BNZ terms and conditions
These Terms and Conditions are in addition to and are to be read in conjunction with:

  1. Internet Banking Terms and Conditions (which shall apply to the Service and be deemed to form part of and to be incorporated in these terms and conditions as if set out here in full); and
  2. Standard Terms and Conditions for operating accounts (which shall apply to the Service and be deemed to form part of and to be incorporated in these terms and conditions as if set out here in full).

If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other terms and conditions applying to an account or the Service, these Terms and Conditions prevail to the extent of that inconsistency.

2. Xero Terms and Conditions
Before you can use the Service you will also be required to accept the Xero Terms of Use.

3. Information Notice:

  • Information collected by BNZ: BNZ and/or its related companies (as defined in section 2(3) of the Companies Act 1993 as if "company" includes a company or other body corporate incorporated in New Zealand or any other jurisdiction) collects information about you each time you use the Service. BNZ collects information about the time, date, duration and your use of the Service. BNZ uses non-personalised statistics about the use of the Service to continually improve it. 
  • Information from BNZ to Xero: By using the Service you authorise BNZ to provide to Xero a contact email address, an account list, and account transaction data on those accounts you have selected for the Service. This data will be sent to Xero at the end of each business day excluding weekends. When you first register for the Service or subsequently reactivate the Service, BNZ will provide Xero up to 90 days historical transaction data for the selected accounts. You may only select accounts for which you are the account owner. If you close an account or no longer access it through BNZ Internet Banking, BNZ will no longer transfer data for that account to Xero.

Information from Xero to BNZ: You agree that Xero may provide to BNZ:

  1. your goals and categorised spending information (for display within Internet Banking) provided by you during your use of the Service; and
  2. non-personal aggregated information relating to your use of the Service.

4. Joint accounts
Any joint accounts you select for the Service will only be available for your individual use of the Service. Other joint customers will be prevented from selecting these same accounts if they want to register for the Service.

5. Variation to terms and conditions and suspension or termination of the Service
BNZ may vary these terms and conditions unilaterally from time to time. BNZ can in its absolute discretion terminate, suspend, withdraw or change this Service at any time. BNZ will give you at least 14 days’ notice of any such variation, termination, suspension, withdrawal or change, unless it is necessary in the circumstances for BNZ to give a lesser notice period or notice after any such action (for example, where it is necessary to protect the security of the Service). BNZ can change the user requirements, application and operating system specifications, format or content of the Service at any time without prior notice to you. You may cancel your registration to the Service at any time.

6. Fees
All fees and charges in relation to the Service will be in addition to standard account, transaction and other customer fees, and are inclusive of GST. Fees and charges in relation to the Service will be debited to your nominated billing account. If there are insufficient funds in your nominated billing account, you authorise BNZ to debit the fees or charges to that account even if that causes that account to become overdrawn or increases an existing overdraft on that account. If you close your nominated billing account, BNZ will automatically select another account to which fees and charges relating to the Service may be debited. If no account satisfactory to BNZ exists we can immediately suspend the availability of the Service to you until you open a replacement billing account satisfactory to us. BNZ may from time to time vary the amount, frequency or time for payment of any fees or charges relating to the Service and introduce new fees or charges relating to the Service. BNZ will keep you advised of fees and charges in accordance with the Code of Banking Practice.

7. Liability
Subject to complying with our duty to exercise reasonable care and skill and other obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, but otherwise irrespective of anything else stated in these terms and conditions, BNZ is not liable to you and accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, cost or expense whether direct or indirect, consequential or economic which arises in connection with any one or more of the following:

  1. your use of the Service; or
  2. any system or telecommunications link failure; or
  3. any fault, error or defect in design or engineering of the Service or any delay, fault, failure in or loss of access to the Service or information you have entered; or
  4. any delay or non-performance by BNZ resulting from matters beyond our reasonable control; or
  5. any delay, non-performance, or errors by Xero.

8. General Information
The information provided through this Service is for general information only. It is not intended to constitute financial, tax or accountancy advice. If you have any, financial, tax, or accounting questions, please contact an accountant. Although every effort has been made to ensure that the information is current and accurate, the information is selective and may not be complete or suitable for your intended use.

9. New Zealand Law and for New Zealand Residents
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted according to the law of New Zealand. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts to hear and determine all disputes arising under these terms and conditions or in connection with the Service.The Service is only provided for New Zealand residents who reside in New Zealand. By using the Service you confirm that you are a New Zealand resident residing in New Zealand.

MoneyMap (the "Service") is provided to you by Bank of New Zealand ("BNZ") in conjunction with Xero Limited ("Xero"). By completing the registration requirements you accept the MoneyMap Terms and Conditions ("Terms and Conditions").
