More detail

With Internet Banking it's easy to send money overseas to friends, family or anyone else. You enter the payment details when it suits, and make payments between 8am and 7pm on any New Zealand business day. The payments will go directly to their overseas bank account. Simple.

See exactly how much you're paying

You can enter the amount in New Zealand dollars or in the overseas currency, it's up to you. Internet Banking uses real-time live exchange rates, so it immediately shows the amount in both currencies, based on an indicative rate. Before you confirm your payment you'll be shown the final exchange rate and payment amounts. No surprises.

A choice of currencies

For each of the available countries, and that's most of them, you can choose to pay in its own currency or in US dollars.

Enter a person's details only once

When you save someone's name, address and bank account details, they're automatically stored in your payee list, so they're ready to go for next time. You can also update or delete them at any time.

Convenient and super secure

With Internet Banking, you can make international payments whether you're at home, out and about, or travelling overseas. Plus you have the added security of NetGuard, our two-factor login authentication.

Making sure it goes to the right account

To make an international payment you'll need to enter:

  • The payee's full name and street address
  • The country of the payee's bank and the bank account number

Additional information may be required for banks in some countries, such as India, Thailand and South Africa.
