What is Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode?
Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode gives an additional level of security when shopping online by adding a password only known to you, helping to ensure that only you can use your Visa card or MasterCard at participating online retailers.
What if I've forgotten my password?
Simply re-register. Click on the Register link and follow the registration process with a new password. Your new password will override the existing password. Remember to choose a password that is unique and/or significant to you for easy reference in future transactions.

I can't remember if I've registered in the past. What should I do?
If you're unsure as to whether or not you've previously registered, you can re-register your Visa card on the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode website with a new password. Your new password will override any existing password.

I'm having problems with my registration. Why is it not working?
If you are having difficulty registering your Visa card or MasterCard, here are some tips that may help:
- Type in your credit card or Flexi Debit Visa card number in this format – xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (there is no need to add spaces or dashes between the numbers)
- Make sure that you enter the name on your card exactly as it appears on your card, for e.g. if the name on your card is A B Smith, enter A B Smith
- Make sure that you enter the last three digits found on the back of your card in the Signature Panel Code field
- For credit cards, make sure that you enter the correct credit limit on your card
- For Flexi Debit cards, make sure you enter the correct expiry date
Why does the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode link take me to a third party website?
BNZ Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode is hosted by a third party on behalf of Bank of New Zealand.
Can I start shopping as soon as I've registered?
Once you have registered there is no time delay before Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode is available for use on your card.
I use Google Chrome/Safari. Why is the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode website blocked on my computer?
In order to register successfully, you may need to adjust your security setting to temporarily allow pop ups so that you can complete the registration process.
