Here’s a true story about a couple of our clients, the Browns (not their real name). Until a couple of years ago, they were running a successful dairy farming operation in mid Canterbury.
The issue was they wanted to spend more time boating, travelling and enjoying life. But with a son who was keen to continue in the dairy farming tradition, they didn’t want to sell all the family silver – nor burden him with unmanageable debt.
So they called their local Bank of New Zealand Agribusiness Manager, who promptly paid them a visit. Now the thing that sets us apart is we’re driven by bold new thinking. Fast forward to the present. The Browns have sold their farm, unlocking enough equity to enjoy a life of boating, overseas travelling and exploration. And their son? When he’s back from his OE, he can look forward to starting work on the smaller dairy farm the Browns have converted.
