The spirit of volunteering

How our staff help build strong communities.

We understand the importance of actively supporting and being involved with our communities. That's why we give each of our employees two days volunteer leave every year. Their participation rate is among the highest in our industry. The work they choose to do benefits schools, charities, community groups and the environment.

A long history of volunteering in our communities

Our current community volunteering programme began in 2007. It's one of the ways we help to build strong local communities. We also have long-term community partnerships and major sponsorship programmes.

Closed for Good

Closed for GoodOn Tuesday 8 May we're closing our BNZ stores and Business Centres for a day so we can get out and help in the community. Last year Closed for Good saw more than 3,000 BNZ staff working all around New Zealand on over 400 projects such as building walk ways, providing marketing, IT and HR support and training, and painting schools and youth centres.

Want to help out?

This year, we'd like to help out on even more Closed for Good projects and with your help, we can. We're looking for extra pairs of hands to help our BNZ teams across the country on Tuesday 8 May. If you'd like to help out on a project in your community, visit closedforgood.org to find out more and register yourself as a volunteer. We'd love to hear from you!
