Applying for Sponsorship from BNZ

At BNZ we believe being better off is about more than just dollars and cents. Our sponsorships are a big part of this, and are a way for us to turn business success into real benefits for the many New Zealand communities we're part of.

The main way we do this is through supporting nationwide causes such as the BNZ Save the Kiwi Trust, Plunket and the Rebel Sport Super 14 along with a range of regional community initiatives and events.

While these partnerships are our main focus, we've also created a set of criteria to help us evaluate other possible sponsorships. If you have one in mind, please take a look at our guidelines and make sure what you have in mind ties in with them before contacting us.

Sponsorship guidelines

We'll take a look at your sponsorship request if it

  1. Benefits the wider New Zealand community
  2. Allows BNZ to be the principal sponsor or work closely with the principal sponsor
  3. Gives bank staff an opportunity to get involved
  4. Ties in with our "Better Off" brand positioning
  5. Will lead to an ongoing two-way partnership between you and us
  6. Is not based exclusively on customer relationships

Sorry, but we don't sponsor

  1. Individuals
  2. Opportunities, organisations or events based outside of New Zealand
  3. Hobby or personal interest groups
  4. Illegal or high-risk activities or events
  5. Religious causes, events or agendas
  6. Political causes, events or agendas

Application process and timing
Approving a sponsorship request takes up to three months – so if you're applying for sponsorship of a specific event, make sure your application is with us at least three months before you plan to hold it.

Once you've checked that your application meets our sponsorship criteria, the next step is to download an application form, fill it in and send it to us.

If we decide to partner with you, your sponsorship would take effect a month later at the earliest.
