2010 Confidence Surveys
9 August 2010 9 August 2010 (PDF 99KB) - Our latest monthly BNZ Confidence Survey shows there has been almost no change in sentiment regarding the economy’s growth prospects for the coming year with a net 1% of respondents expecting a deterioration compared with a +2% expectation in July.
12 July 2010 12 July 2010 (PDF 102KB) - Our July BNZ Confidence Survey indicated a sharp decline in confidence about the economy over the coming year to only a net 2% positive from 26% in early June and a peak of 56% back in September.
14 June 2010 14 June 2010 (PDF 105KB) - Our June BNZ Confidence Survey highlighted for many firms in our survey, confidence has slipped back slightly further in early June to a net 26% positive about the economy over the coming year.
10 May 2010 10 May 2010 (PDF 94KB) - Our May BNZ Confidence Survey found a slight improvement in sentiment to a net 42% confident about the economy in a year's time compared with 35% three weeks ago.
30 March 2010 30 March 2010 (PDF 79KB) - Our March BNZ Confidence Survey found a net 42% of respondents expect the economy to get better over the coming year. This is little changed from 35% earlier this month, 37% in February and 43% in December.
8 March 2010 8 March 2010 (PDF 91KB) - Other confidence surveys have also revealed very high levels of confidence, but indicators of the NZ economy have in recent months shown this confidence is not transferring through into much extra strength in retailing, hiring, or business investment.
9 February 10 9 February 2010 (PDF 94KB) - Our first Confidence Survey for 2010 found a net 37% of respondents expect the economy will improve over the coming year.
