How to bank today when our stores are closed

Closed for GoodToday (4 November), most BNZ people will be working on projects around New Zealand to help our communities be better off - we're calling it Closed for Good.

There'll still be staff behind the scenes to make sure urgent and time critical services are available. And, we're making some interest and fee adjustments so our customers are not financially disadvantaged by our stores being closed for the day.

Our Customer Contact Centre is staying open today, so call us on 0800 24 00 00 if you have any questions. And of course, tomorrow our stores and offices will be open for business as usual.

How you can do your banking today

What you won't be able to do when our stores are closed

  • In-store cash withdrawals
  • In-store cash and cheque deposits
  • Order or pick up foreign currency and travellers' cheques from a store
  • Pick up bank cheques, EFTPOS and credit cards
  • Activate a card with a PIN
  • Open a new bank account
  • Business change orders

Important things to remember

  • We've changed credit card payment dates so they don't fall on 4 November.
  • All deposits made on Thursday 5 November 2009 through a store will be backdated to Wednesday 4 November. This will provide adjustments for interest due and overdraft facility fees.
  • All deposits made on Thursday 5 November through a store will not incur any cash handling fees.
